Summary: I am a director, writer, producer, camera person, editor, and educator. My most recent broadcast documentary is First Encounters in the Land of the Wahgoshig, a 4-part series that follows 6 non-indigenous visitors spending 2 weeks at the Wahgoshig First Nation on the shores of Lake Abitibi in northern Ontario.  My Heart is Like a Bomb about the difficulties new immigrants face (particularly men) to integrate into Canadian society and the stress this provokes within the family. I made “Courage“, an hour long doc about the struggle of the working poor to survive on minimum wage. I’ve also directed, shot, and edited a number of web-based mini documentaries including The People’s Guru for TVOntario and several others for the French side of the National Film Board of Canada. Check out! I’ve also made “Waiting for My Real Life” a feature length doc about the obesity epidemic in North America. I produced 4 documentaries for The Nature of Things with David Suzuki on CBC, two of which won international awards. My other work includes the feature length, “The Universal Clock: the Resistance of Peter Watkins” that has been programmed at 10 festivals around the world, and “Walk Naked Singing” which premiered at Hot Docs!, was nominated for two awards at the Yorkton Film Festival in 2002, and broadcast on TVO’s “The View From Here”.

Associations: National Chair of the Documentary Organization of Canada, 1999. Executive member for many years.

Director Member of the Director’s Guild of Canada.

Founding Editor of the film and television magazine, POV, editor 1989-1991.
